[Akko should really be at her job today. But. Well. As it turns out, antique and oddities shops don’t take all that kindly to clumsiness. So, Akko’s out of a job. So maybe it’s not so much that she should be at a job as it is she should be looking for a job.]
[But there are more days to come where she can do that. So, the invitation to go for a walk sounds nice enough. She’s certainly willing to accept any and all excuses not to keep trying to scrounge up part-time work.]
sure! did u have somewhere in mind to go?
[That seems a very Diana thing to do. Why do anything for its own sake seems to be a philosophy of hers, anyway. But Akko’s happy to play along and maybe even trick Diana into...having fun!?]
[Food is amazing and chief among one of Akko's favorite things, so Diana is #nailing this whole socializing thing.]
great!! we can figure out what we want along the way
[One might think it would make more sense to plan a walk in the direction of a decided upon restaurant or cafe, but in typical Akko fashion there's very little thought put into it. In fact, she's already out the door of her apartment and on her way to Diana's as she sends that message.]
[Honestly? She's come to expect this behavior out of Akko. Her more spontaneous behavior is a sharp contrast to Diana's meticulous style. And that's fine.
She prefers it that way, especially now that they're Bonded.]
There you are.
Did you have anything you specifically wanted to eat today?
[Akko lets out a long hm, contemplating all of their potential options. The quality of food seems to vary a lot from place to place, especially depending on the price point, but she's not overly concerned with that.]
Well, it's almost lunchtime, so we should probably get something actually filling and not just junk food, right?
[That's probably the responsible decision, which Akko is semi-willing to compromise on with Diana, who is substantially less like to consider ice cream a suitable meal.]
[Dramatic readings? Well, Sypha can do that. She may not be the best person for it, but she figures that if she can borrow even an ounce of Akko's enthusiasm and do her best preacher impersonation, she can probably fake it well enough for an easy payday.
Standing inside the shop, getting her thoughts in order as they prepare for work, the Speaker Magician smiles down at her young friend.]
...Are you ready? Got what you're wanting to say in your head?
[...Labeling it as enthusiasm may be a bit more generous than is necessarily deserved. It's a little questionable that Akko did much more than just glance over the provided notes for what they're supposed to be acting out. There's a high likelihood that this is going to end up more improv that following the script.]
You're not just reciting some lines, Sypha, [Akko says with a furious shake of her head. Her ears twitch a little as she leans in a little closer.] You're captivating the attention of the masses here! You really gotta bring your best to this and make sure people are paying attention. And then you gotta make sure that while they're watching you, they're feeling good! They need to feel inspired!
[That's not exactly how inspiration from advertisement works, but Akko is a little stuck on the theatrics right now. As much as her perspective on things may have somewhat shifted and changed, there's really no making Akko let go of her dreams of performing.]
[Sypha blinks at this. She's...okay, Akko, you're really taking this seriously and Sypha is just a little bit surprised by how vociferous an argument this is.]
...Are we putting on a play, or are we advertising, Akko?
[A small but sharp obsidian knife, rather than anything close to iron. (Don't say Kaede can never be considerate.) It isn't decorated with any antler, but does have some pretty red wood for its handle. Surely Akko can use it to open boxes or trim plants. It comes with a note warning that it's fragile and the shards hurt like glass, though Kaede's failed to actually sign her name. The note's written in Japanese, though, and there's some red down stuck to the box. It's not hard to sleuth out who gave Akko a knife.]
A charm, marked with Ursa Major, that will allow Akko to use some cosmic magic to fuel her Pucca magic, as well as her alchemy, when needed. There's also... a small bottle of wine?!?! And a note;
"You are *not* allowed to drink this without myself, Kaede, or Fang present. But even so, Merry Christmas, Akko. I love you, and I want you to know how infinitely proud I am of you and everything you've managed to accomplish."
[On the day of the holiday, a plate of homemade cookies and a sample of herbal tea mysteriously appears on her doorstep. The wrapping is decorated with a fresh lily flower (actually a Fae magic product, designed to fade away from existence in a few hours) and a ribbon. The attached handwritten note reads as follows:]

What about you? Are you feeling nervous?

[Sypha has to laugh at that. Akko sure is something. She's a completely unique flower, if there ever was one.]
Hardly. I haven't ever acted before, but how hard can it be to recite some lines?
